The baby was still wriggling, but the New Jersey paramedics who responded to an emergency call of a premature birth threw the tiny infant into a medical waste bag, according to court records.
The infant boy eventually was taken to a hospital and lived just two days.
The paramedics' actions came to light yesterday in documents filed in connection with a lawsuit by the baby's mother, Phylteea Davis of Plainfield, N.J. Davis, who was 16 when she gave birth to Justin Kaishaun Davis on June 2, 1999, is suing the paramedics, the Plainfield Rescue Squad and Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in her son's death.
